On June 12, 2024, Jin, the eldest member of BTS, completed his military service of approximately 18 months and was discharged as a Sergeant. The discharge ceremony at the 5th Infantry Division Recruit Training Center in Yeoncheon, Gyeonggi Province, was marked by warm greetings from fellow soldiers and BTS members.
Discharge Ceremony
At around 8:50 AM, Jin exited the guard post to applause from his fellow soldiers. He hugged each of his junior soldiers, expressing his gratitude. Wearing a combat uniform adorned with marks indicating his role as an instructor and "Excellent Warrior," he gave a strong salute.
On this day, all the BTS members except for Suga came to greet Jin. RM, J-Hope, V, Jungkook, and Jimin were on leave from their military duties to celebrate Jin's discharge. RM, who serves in the military band, brought a saxophone and performed the hit song "Dynamite" to welcome Jin.
Welcoming Jin
Jin accepted the bouquet of flowers prepared by the members and waved to the reporters with a relaxed expression. He couldn't hide his joy, smiling brightly as he hugged RM and J-Hope.
Special Meeting with Fans
On the following day, June 13, Jin will attend the '2024 FESTA' offline event at Jamsil Indoor Stadium in Songpa-gu, Seoul. During the first part of the event, he will hold a hug session with 1,000 fans, and in the second part, he will interact with fans.
