Amid the controversy surrounding singer Jessie (36) after a fan was allegedly assaulted when requesting a photo, claims have emerged that a similar incident occurred in the past involving Jessie's entourage at a club in Itaewon.
According to JTBC's "Incident Report" on the 17th, a woman referred to as A claimed that she was a victim of an assault by Jessie's group at a club in Itaewon in 2013 and stated that she had withdrawn her complaint at that time.
A stated, "This assault incident is very similar to what happened back then," and added that during the past incident, Jessie's entourage "assaulted me in the bathroom and said they would forgive me if I knelt down and apologized."
She continued, "I don’t even know why they hit me. If there hadn’t been CCTV, Jessie would have denied any involvement just like last time."
In May of that year, Jessie was involved in a case concerning the group assault of a Korean-American woman, A, in a women's bathroom at an Itaewon club. The victim initially filed a complaint against Jessie and two of her friends for the assault but later withdrew it.
Afterward, Jessie stated, "I was only trying to stop the fight and did not participate in the assault." However, A explained that there were other reasons behind her decision to withdraw the complaint.
A noted, "It was striking how similar the attitudes were regarding both assault cases, past and present." She added that she did not withdraw the complaint because Jessie was innocent, but rather because she had already booked a flight to the United States for work-related reasons and thought it would be difficult to continue the complaint after leaving for America.
On the 16th, Jessie appeared at the Gangnam Police Station in Seoul to be investigated regarding the assault case. In front of the police station, she told reporters, "I hope they quickly find the person who hit me and punish them. I will speak honestly about everything."
