Kim Du-kwan came in second with 15.01% of the vote, while Kim Ji-soo garnered 2.49%, finishing third. In his speech, Kim Du-kwan emphasized the importance of internal democracy within the party, warning against the erosion of diversity, dynamism, and the democratic DNA of figures like Kim Dae-jung and Roh Moo-hyun. He criticized the party's constitution and rules exception clause that allows the party leader to remain in position up to a year before the presidential election, suggesting it was tailored for specific individuals.

Youth candidate Kim Ji-soo highlighted the importance of expanding the party's reach and creating a dynamic Democratic Party. He stressed the necessity of winning the hearts of future generations, who desire more opportunities, and urged the party to stand alongside them.

 

Supreme Council Election Results

In the Supreme Council election, Jung Bong-ju topped the list with 19.06% of the vote, followed by Jeon Hyun-hee with 15.78%. Kim Min-seok (13.18%), Kim Byung-joo (13.08%), and Han Jun-ho (12.09%) also made it to the council. Lee Eon-joo (12.00%), Kang Seon-woo (7.81%), and Min Hyung-bae (7.01%) did not secure seats in the first round. Jung Bong-ju demonstrated strong leadership, solidifying his position as a key figure in the Supreme Council.
