Jinro, Top-Selling Distilled Spirit Brand Worldwide Achieves "77 Bottles per Second"

Hite Jinro's flagship soju brand, Jinro, has once again been crowned the world's top-selling distilled spirit by Drink Internationals, a leading UK beverage publication, for the 23rd consecutive year.

In 2023, Jinro achieved sales of 97.4 million cases globally (based on 9 liters per case), translating to a staggering 77 bottles sold every second. Amidst global economic downturn and inflation impacting sales of most major distilled spirit brands, Jinro has continued its remarkable record, never relinquishing its top position since 2001.

Last year, Jinro's sales were over three times higher than the second-place Filipino distilled spirit brand and more than twice the combined sales of major Scotch whisky brands, highlighting its overwhelming dominance.

Currently exporting Jinro products to approximately 80 countries, Hite Jinro has expanded its targeted countries from 8 to 17, reinforcing its foothold in the global market. The company's strategy includes expanding local household distribution channels, participating in festivals, and enhancing sports marketing to increase product accessibility, awareness, and local consumption rates.

Under its "Global Vision 2030," Hite Jinro aims to popularize Jinro globally and achieve over 500 billion KRW in overseas soju sales by 2030. This strategic initiative underscores its determination to establish Jinro as a globally recognized beverage brand, transcending its role as a representative soju of South Korea.

Hite Jinro's Overseas Business Division Head, Hwang Jung-ho, emphasized, "By securing 23 consecutive years as the global No. 1 distilled spirit brand, Jinro has elevated its stature as a leading representative soju from South Korea and will continue to strengthen Jinro as a popular beverage brand that occupies an important place in the daily lives of people worldwide."
