Starship's Vice President Seo Hyun-joo Reflects on IVE's Tokyo Dome Debut: 'Proud of Their Growth'

Starship Entertainment's Vice President Seo Hyun-joo recently shared her reflections on IVE's historic performance at Tokyo Dome and the completion of their 11-month world tour. The event marked a significant milestone for both the group and the agency, highlighting IVE's impressive achievements and growth.

On September 4 and 5, IVE held the encore concerts of their first world tour, "IVE THE 1ST WORLD TOUR 'SHOW WHAT I HAVE'," at Tokyo Dome. This marked their debut performance at the iconic venue, often considered a dream stage for artists. Despite the weekday timing, the concerts were a sell-out success, with all seats, including restricted-view seats, being fully booked. Over the two days, IVE engaged with 95,000 fans, known as DIVE, during the event.

 

IVE's world tour, which began in Seoul's Jamsil Indoor Stadium last October, spanned 11 months and covered 37 performances across 28 cities in 19 countries, including Asia, North America, Europe, and South America. The group made history as the first fourth-generation K-pop girl group to perform at Seoul's Olympic Park KSPO DOME (formerly Olympic Gymnastics Arena) and sold out arenas across the U.S. They have performed alongside 420,000 DIVE fans throughout their tour.

 

With IVE's Tokyo Dome debut, Starship Entertainment achieved a notable milestone as their first artist to perform at the venue in the company's 16-year history. After the concert, Seo Hyun-joo, Starship's Vice President and IVE's general producer, expressed her pride and motivation in an interview with MyDaily. She remarked, "It's incredibly motivating to see our artist enter Tokyo Dome for the first time in Starship's history. It inspires me to deliver even better albums and music to our fans."

 

Seo also expressed her satisfaction in witnessing IVE's growth and performance. She said, "Seeing IVE enjoy their stage and grow has been the most fulfilling part. Completing the 11-month world tour without any issues is an incredible achievement. It truly feels like the team has come together as one."

 

Despite acknowledging the significance of Tokyo Dome as a dream stage, Seo emphasized that size is not the only factor. She expressed the need for continuous improvement and a desire to present even better performances. "Although Tokyo Dome is a dream stage, we should not be complacent. We need to show even better performances and continue to evolve," she stated.

 

During the world tour, IVE also participated in global festivals, including Lollapalooza Chicago, delivering energetic performances of their hits such as "HEYA," "Accendio," "Off The Record," "I AM," "ELEVEN," "Kitsch," and "All Night."

Seo highlighted IVE's dedication and growth, mentioning that despite a busy schedule, the members remained committed to rehearsals and vocal lessons. "They came to practice and took vocal lessons even during their busy tour schedule. It made me believe they are destined to become truly great artists," she said.

 

Finally, Seo expressed her personal reflections on the tour's success. "Today feels like the beginning of something truly significant. It has provided a tremendous motivation for us to produce even better albums. It's not just about making a good album; it's about genuinely delivering something exceptional," she concluded.

 

Seo Hyun-joo, who co-founded Starship Entertainment with her husband Kim Si-dae in 2008, has been instrumental in the success of various artists, including K.Will, Jung Se-hun, SISTAR, Boyfriend, MONSTA X, WJSN, and CRAVITY.
